38 weeks and counting

Had another Dr. appointment today. Had an ultrasound to see how our baby boy is. He measured 7 lb 10 oz give or take half a pound. I'm dialated to 2 cm, which doesn't really mean anything could go into labor today or 2 weeks from now, no one can say for sure. Got a cute picture of his foot that I've attached.

I went and got a pedicure with Becky, Amy and Brandee today. I have a green shamrock for luck painted on my toes. Plus if I deliver on St. Patrick's day I will be wearing something green so no one can pinch me. It was relaxing, sitting in the massage chairs.

37 weeks

Well we have reached the magical 37th week where they say the baby is full term. I had a Dr. appointment on Wed. of this week. Got into the exam room and got a text from Dan saying his Dr. was sending him to the ER to check for appendicitis, needless to say I wanted to get through my appointment so that I could meet him there. My doctor said I was having a contraction my response "Really? I don't feel anything". I've been assured that I will definitely be able to feel them when they get stronger and nearer to delivery. Baby's heartbeat was 144 and everything is going good. My ankles are usually non-existent by the time I get home from work because they swell with fluid during the day. I'm supposed to have another ultrasound next Tuesday to see how big our baby boy will be. I will also get measured to make sure I can deliver him or if I need to have a C-section. Will keep you posted.

Back to Dan. We found out it is a viral infection and not appendicitis, thank goodness although he has been home and not feeling well at all. Just starting to feel a little better able to get some food down today.

Baby Shower

I just wanted to thank everyone for the lovely gifts at the baby shower last weekend. Just makes me realize baby is almost here. Becky put together a great shower, the cake was awesome.

We got the Crib bedding ordered and set up. Isn't it cute!

31 weeks

We started kick counts, and things were going good lots of movement. Then Monday kick counts slowed down, I still had the required number but they were slower. I had a dr. appt scheduled already on Tuesday and we did an ultrasound. Everything is okay, the baby has just flipped back into the breech position so not feeling as much movement. We got yet another ultrasound that I have attached. In this one you can see that the baby has hair, the little spikes on top of his head. Both Dan and I had full heads of hair when we were born and with all the heartburn I have been having I'm expecting a full head of hair on our baby's head.

30 weeks

We had our 30 week appointment today with the specialist. Baby is in the 95 percentile now coming in about 4.7 lb so far. Heartbeat is strong at 165 bpm. Everything is looking good. Baby is now in the head down position, thank goodness. He is definitely moving and kicking, being a little wiggle worm. We got a couple of 3D pictures taken that I have attached. I also attached a couple pictures of Dan and I when we were about 1.

Baby's Crib

Mom and Dad came down yesterday and helped put the crib together. Thanks so much, loved having you come down and help. They also went to my 28 week appointment with me and got to hear the baby's heartbeat, 158 bpm. Everything is going smoothly.

24 weeks

We are at 24 weeks. I had my gestational diabetes and anemia test this week. Came back normal, no watching the carbohydrates. Yeah! Went in for another follow-up with the specialist, everything looks good. Baby is coming in on schedule, estimated weight is 1 lb 11 oz. Still sitting breech. I attached a cute profile of the baby below.

WE'RE HAVING A BOY!

Had an ultrasound today. It's a Boy! Estimated weight of the baby is 1 pound 3 ounces, normal for 22 weeks. Heart rate still at 158. First questions out of everyone's mouth now is do we have a name picked out yet? Nope we will work on it and keep you posted.

19 weeks

Well we had an appointment with the Dr. this morning. The baby was not cooperating during the ultrasound (legs were crossed) so we did not find out what we were having . Some updated stats from this morning baby is estimated at 11 ounces and the heartbeat was 160. The doc said everything looks good. I've attached an updated picture. Our next ultrasound is currently scheduled for Dec. 4th maybe we will have more luck then.

Baby on Board

Yeah! We got a positive pregnancy test!! Been feeling good no morning sickness. We have had a couple of ultrasounds (10 week photo attached). Due Date is March, 23 2009. I've had to go to a specialist due to having a blood clotting disorder (MTHFR). I am currently on Folbee Plus (extra folic acid and B vitamins) and a Baby Aspirin. Had my blood drawn this week to test for the amino acid homocysteine, hopefully the level is low and then I won't need to do further treatments for the MTHFR like injections of an anticoagulant.

I've gotten some of my energy back. Boy, you don't know how tired a pregnant lady is during her first trimester until you've been there.
